About the Series:
Kyo Kara Maoh! began as a series of light novels, written in December of 2000, by Tomo Takabayashi before making its anime debut in Japan in April of 2004. It ran until 2009 with a total of 122 episodes (that is including the OVA episodes). The manga, illustrated by Temari Matsumoto (who drew the original cover art to the novels), began in 2005 and is still ongoing.

The Story:
Yuuri Shibuya is your average 15-year-old teenage boy in high school with a passion for playing baseball. One ordinary day, Yuuri crosses paths with an old classmate, Ken Murata, who has become the next target for a gang of relentless bullies. Once they switch their attention on Yuuri, who confronts them on their behavior, he is forced on a trip inside a public toilet...literally! A swirly became his ticket into a vortex transporting him to another world! Not just toilets...but any body of water or liquid has the ability to transport him between this world and the next!
Yuuri soon discovers that the land he inhabits is very different than his own.A group of handsome men claiming to be demons have announced him to be the country's next Maoh (demon king)! It's a hefty job for an average teen from earth, but Yuuri has the confidence and the hidden power to prevail as the demon world's new ruler. For the first time in his life, Yuuri steps up to the plate and takes a swing at his, as well as the entire kingdom's, destiny and he doesn't plan to strike out!
